Abstract
PURPOSE:To align the positions of two articles quickly and easily by detecting the position deviations from the set relative position relations of the two articles and controlling the movement of a table carrying one article in such a way as to reduce said deviations. CONSTITUTION:The 1st article A is placed on a table 1, and the position thereof is regulated with a holding mechanism 2 until a flat plate-like body 3 is brought into contact with a top end surface (a) over the entire top surface thereof. With the 2nd article B held supported by a transfer mechanism 4, the bottom end surface (b) of the article B is brought into full contact with the top surface of the body 3. The end surfaces (a), (b) are held in parallel positions via the body 3 by this. The table 1 is moved upward by vertically moving mechanisms 8, 8 and are stopped by leaving a slight clearance between the surfaces (a) and (b). From the set relative position relation of the surfces (a), (b), deviations thereof are detected with the image pickup tube 20 of a position deviation detecting mechanism 5, and the table 1 is moved by servocontrol motors 28, 20 via a servocontrol motor driving device 27 of a control mechanism 6, whereby the deviations are reduced.
