Also, along with this blowing of the gaseous O2, gaseous CO2 is blown from an outside pipe 4 into the molten steel 5 at a >=150m/sec velocity of flow and a 60-600Nl/cm.sec flow rates per unit length of the outside circumference of the outside pipe 4. As a result, the closing of the pipe 3 and the pipe 4 owing to backflow of the molten steel 5 into these pipes is prevented. The bottom blowing tuyere is protected by cooling the same uniformly over the entire outside circumference.
