Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent flowing in of molten steel and prevent the erosion of a bottom blowing tuyere by flowing gaseous O2 at above the velocity of sound into the inside pipe of a tuyere of concentrical multipipe construction for oxygen blowing provided to the steel producing furnace body under molten metal surface and gaseous CO2 at above the prescribed velocity of flow below the velocity of sound into the outside pipe, respectively. CONSTITUTION:In a tuyere of concentrical multipipe construction for oxygen blowing provided under the surface of molten steel 5 in the bottom part of a molten steel receiving vessel 1, gaseous O2 is blown from an inside pipe 3 into the molten steel 5 at a velocity of flow above the velocity of sound. Also, along with this blowing of the gaseous O2, gaseous CO2 is blown from an outside pipe 4 into the molten steel 5 at a >=150m/sec velocity of flow and a 60-600Nl/cm.sec flow rates per unit length of the outside circumference of the outside pipe 4. As a result, the closing of the pipe 3 and the pipe 4 owing to backflow of the molten steel 5 into these pipes is prevented. The bottom blowing tuyere is protected by cooling the same uniformly over the entire outside circumference.
