Abstract

PURPOSE: To blow a gas uniformly and safely by setting and fixing an outer pipe at the outside of the central core of a nozzle at a suitable interval to form a ringlike gas ejecting passage.
CONSTITUTION: The body of a nozzle is composed of a core 19 formed by packing the interior of an inner pipe 7 with refractory 9 and of an outer pipe 8 set coaxially at the outside of the core at a suitable interval. An expanded section 8' is formed at the lower part of the pipe 8, and part of the section 8' is pierced to attach a gas introducing part 10. An inert gas introduced from the part 10 along an arrow A rises in the section 8' in the direction of arrows B and is ejected through a ringlike ejection passage 18 formed between the pipes 7, 8. The inert gas is further ejected into molten steel 5 through venting paths 4 and floats up in the steel 5 as tiny bubbles 6.
