Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture a uniformly shaped shot sphere, by specifying the heating temperature of a melt, a nozzle diameter, the distance between the tip of the nozzle and a cooling water surface, the temperature of cooling water when manufacturing a shot sphere by dripping zinc melt into cooling water. CONSTITUTION:A partitioning plate 3 preventing flow-in of a dross is provided in a container 1 and melt is dripped from the nozzle 5 provided at a melt well 2 into a cooling water 6. A grade purer than a distilled zinc metal grade is used as zinc. The temperature of melt in the container 1 is made ca.430-ca.580 deg.C. Also, the diameter d of the nozzle 5 is made 1.0-2.5mm., preferably 1.0-2.0mm., the distance l between the tip 5a of the nozzle 5 and the water surface 6a of cooling water 6 is made 2-20mm., preferably 5-15mm.. Futrther, the temperature of cooling water 6 is made 60-80 deg.C, preferably 65-75 deg.C molten zinc is formed uniformly into a shot sphere by this.
