Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure the flow direction of a fluid which has an extremely low velocity by charging and discharging a substitute fluid, having different electrical or chemical properties from the fluid to be measured, in and from an observation part, forming a lump of the substitute fluid of prescribed size, and then detecting the movement of the lump of the substitute fluid electrically. CONSTITUTION:A prescribed amount of an electrolyte 80 is discharged from a discharge opening 36A into an observation part 20 as shown by (A). When the electrolyte 80 moves as underground water W moves, this movement is detected in the form impedance variation between electrodes by measuring electrodes 11A, 11B...15A, and 15B. Then, the measurement of the flow of the underground water W is started at an electrode having said impedance variation.
