Abstract

PURPOSE:To ease rope releasing and feeding operation in a main sheet by constructing a cleat in such a manner that a rope can freely be fed or released with the rope set in a locking mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A rope 11, passing through rope guide holes 26 and 27, is wound round a sheave 8 supported by a shaft 9. A handle 25 is fixed to an end of the shaft 9 of the sheave 8, while a locking disk 15 is attached to the other end of the shaft 9. In normal case, the free rotation of the sheave 8 is restricted by the engagement between the disk 15 and teeth 17 of a housing 13 due to spring action of a spring 19. A cap 20 is provided on the housing 13, and when this cap 20 is screwed in the direction of ''A'', the spring 19 is compresed to move a shaft 9a and the shaft 9 in the direction of B, thus the locking disk 15 is disengaged from the teeth 17 to allow the sheave 8 to rotate freely.
