Abstract

PURPOSE: To invariably maintain a copolymer latex bath at a stable state by removing aluminum ion out of the system as eluting and accumulating therein with continuous painting through an ultrafiltration of the latex.
CONSTITUTION: As an aluminum product active by anodic oxidation is continuously painted by immersing in a copolymer latex, aluminum oxide is dissolved and aluminum ion elutes and accumulates in the latex thereby impairing the latex. To solve this problem, the aluminum product is immersed in a copolymer controlled below pH3.0. When a non-water soluble copolymer coated layer is formed continuously on the aluminum surface, an ultrafiltration is conducted to remove aluminum ion eluting and accumulating in the copolymer latex thereby maintaining the latex at a stable state.
