Abstract
PURPOSE:To give prestress to the whole wall body by a method wherein a bottom wall body is extended outward beyond a side wall body, a slidable seat part having a conical inclined surface is provided at the end part thereof and a wedge is inserted between the slidable seat part and the side wall body so that it can move downward. CONSTITUTION:The bottom wall body 3 is extended outward beyond the side wall body 2, the slidable seat part 10 having a conical inclined surface 9 is provided at the end part thereof and the wedge 6 is inserted between the slidable seat part 10 and the side wall body 2 so that it can move downward. When low temperature liquid 12 is introduced into a tank, the side wall body 2 is shrinked inward and a tendency to generate a clearance between the side wall body 2 and the ground 7 occurs but in this case the wedge 6 falls along the inclined surface 9 and is attached tightly around the side wall body 2. Accordingly, the ground above the wedge 6 falls concentrically toward the side wall body 2, the ground pressures exert to the side wall body 2 in the direction of the arrows P1, P2. Thus, prestress can be given to the whole side wall body 2.
