PURPOSE:To switch the distribution of gate pulses to a high speed by switching the distribution of the gate pulses transmitted and received via another transmission line from a normal/reverse switching signal to a thyristor converter according to the normal/reverse switching signal. CONSTITUTION:A parallel gate pulse signal 84 which is outputted from a gate pulse generator 70 is converted via a parallel/series changeover switch 72 into a serial signal 86, is remotely transmitted through a transmission line, and the serial signal 88 is again converted via a series-parallel changeover switch 74 into a parallel signal. This signal is inputted to a normal/reverse distributor 76, and the gate pulses are sequentially distributed to the specified specific thyristor converter according to a changeover instruction signal 82 delivered from a gate pulse generator 70 or externally. Thus, the distribution of the gate pulses to a plurality of thyristor converters which normally or reversely operates can be switched at a high speed.
