Abstract

CONSTITUTION:As to the main scanning direction of a sampling picture obtained by scanning an original image, the position information of black picture elements and that variable magnified with th objective variable magnification are obtained by operation, and a specified data is read out from a memory 3 where a conversion run length in response to the variable magnification is stored in advance by taking the run length of the black picture elements toward the main scanning as an address. The converted run length's share read out from the variably magnified position obtained through the operation is taken as black picture elements and others are taken as white picture elements for reproduction, allowing to execute the variable magnification processing per each main scanning line.
