Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a compsn. consisting of a specified propylene resin and carbon black, which causes only negligible drawdown in blow molding and exhibits excellent resistance to thermal degradation and weathering.
CONSTITUTION: The compsn. is prepared by melt blending 100pts.wt. (A) polypropylene resin and 0.5W5.0pts.wt. (B) carbon black at a temp. above the m.p. of (A) and below 250°C. (A) has a melt index of 0.3g/10min or lower at 230°C and under the load of 2.16kg. and contains ethylene and/or α-olefin in 20wt% or less. (B) has a specific surface area of 100m2/g or less.
EFFECT: The compsn. has an m.p. higher by 20W30°C than that of ethylenic polymer and heat collector for solar water heater made from it does not undergo thermal deformation even when heated in an empty state.
