Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide an impact energy absorber having a suitable rigidity and excellent in the impact resistance at low temperatures, by molding a blend containing as a major constituent a specified linear low-density to medium-density ethylene/α-olefin copolymer into a specified shape.
CONSTITUTION: A blend containing (A) 50W100wt% linear low-density ethylene/ α-olefin copolymer having an α-olefin content of 1W15mol% and a density of 0.915W0.935g/cm2 and (B) 50W0wt% ethylene/alkyl acrylate copolymer containing 1W7mol% ethyl acrylate, 50W0wt% ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer containing up to 40wt% vinyl acetate or 50W0wt% low-density PE having a density of 0.91W0.94g/cm2 and prepared by high-pressure radical polymerization, or the blend containing (C) 50W5wt% linear medium-density ethylene/α-olefin copolymer having a density of 0.935W0.954g/cm2 and 50W95wt% of (B) is molded into an item having ribs extending to a direction of impact.
