Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide packaging two-dimensionally oriented film of an excellent printability, which is prepared by adding more than 0.5 % by weight of high molecular polyethylene glycol to polyesters mainly comprising ethylene terephthalate.
CONSTITUTION: To polyesters which consist of more than 80 % by weight of ethylene terephthalate there is added 0.5 to 10 % by weight of polyethyline glycol of a molecular weight of 5000 to 200000 to form a film of a density of from 1,390 to 1,410 g/cm3. The wetting angle of the film with water becomes in the range of from 25 to 55° to improve the bonding property with ink. The intrinsic viscosity of a polyester polymer supplied to the film is preferably in the range of from 0.4 to 1.0. The drawing temperature of the film is preferably in the range of from 70 to 100°C and the drawing magnification is preferably in the range of from 2.5 to 5.0 times. Thermal solidification of the film is carried out at a temperature is in the range of from 120 to 240°C
