Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the number of working steps and to lessen the manpower for the work by installing the bottom part (bed) of a molten metallic vessel of a monolithic block or divided blocks made by precasting of shapeless refractories. CONSTITUTION:A monolithic block 9 is suspended by a lifting means 7 and is carried, by which it is set in a ladle. In the stage of manufacturing a large-sized block, hooks 8 are beforehand buried or notches are beforehand provided in the end part of the bottom surface of the block and the block is hoisted with the means 7 by hooking the block with the hooks. The block 9 is manufacutred to the size of the bottom area of a ladle to be lined, and after the ladle is applied with the bed permalining 3, refractory mortar is coated on the top surface thereof and the block is lowered gradually on the bed with a crane 6. The spacing between the side wall permalining and the block is packed with refractory motar, after which the side wall work lining 3 is cast, and this completes the work.
