Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve workability and to extend service life by lining the entire part of a molten metal vessel with shapeless refractories. CONSTITUTION:The outermost side of a side wall lining is applied with shapeless refractories 7, and the inner side is built of a lining 8 of refractory bricks. Both of these are permanent linings. The inner side thereof is further applied and lined with shapeless refractories 9. A bed permanent lining 10 is built of shapeless refractories and a bed lining 11 of large-sized precast refractories. Since the shapeless refractories and precast refractories can be built by cast application and installation by a crane, there is no need for skilled building labor, and the lessening of manpower by mechanization, the reduction in working period and the improvement in working environment are achieved.
