PURPOSE:To prevent the lens barrel of a lens system, which moves a lens group by a motor, from increasing in size by arranging the motor inside of a lens holding barrel and near a diaphragm. CONSTITUTION:In an interchangeable lens 2 mounted on a camera body 4 by a fixing barrel 6, lens groups L1-L5 and a diaphragm 16 are moved in the optical axis direction by the rotation of a focusing ring 8. The internal circumferential surface of the focusing ring is made into a gear, which is rotated by a motor 8 connected to the body by an expanding and contracting conductor. This motor is arranged near the diaphragm and at a space part 20 formed because of a decrease in luminous flux diameter, and is movable in the optical axis direction together with the lens groups. This lens barrel never increases in size unlike a motor detachment type.
