Abstract
PURPOSE: To form the raw material of food such as HABUTAE-MOCHI(rice cake having soft and smooth skin like a silk cloth) in a spherical shape, by extruding the soft raw material in the shape of a rod, cutting the extruded rod in definite lengths, and at the same time, rolling the cut pieces into spheres.
CONSTITUTION: The soft raw material F extruded from the extruder in the form of a rod, is dropped into the input 4 of a pair of caterpillar belts A, B having crossing groups 1 which together form rolling chamber R having a cylindrical form. The dropped rod is immediately cut to a definite length by the biting action of a pair of cutting edges 2, and rolled to a spherical shape in the rolling chamber R by the reciprocal rolling motion of the groups 1 of the belts A, B.
