Abstract
PURPOSE: To save the energy in the treatment of food packed in a can, bottle, aluminum foil bag, etc. with hot water heated with steam, by reducing the temperature and pressure of dry saturated steam, and blasting the steam slowly into hot water in a hot water tank along the slant downward direction in the form of small bubbles.
CONSTITUTION: Steam supplied from a steam generator is sent through the pipe 30 to the automatic vapor-water separating set G to obtain dry steam. The pressure of the steam is reduced to 0.2W0.7kg/cm2G with the automatic reducing valve set H, and the steam controlled at 100°C is blasted through the branch pipes 39W41 and 61 and the slantly and downwardly directed nozzle of the blasting pipe (a) slowly into the hot water in the hot water tank in the form of a number of small bubbles. The temperature of the hot water is adjusted by the automatic control of the opening of the valve with the automatic thermostat unit F. In the case of stopping the supply of steam, the vacuum generated in the pipe is broken by the action of the vacuum breaker K to prevent the back-flow of the hot water.
