Abstract

PURPOSE: An oral or gastrointestinal nutrition supplement that is composed of low- molecular peptide compostion mainly containing dipeptides and tripeptides, which are a high-efficiency nitrogen source.
CONSTITUTION: A protein source is enzymatically hydrolyzed to give a low-molecular-weight peptide composition that is composed of mainly dipeptides and tripeptides, including less than 20wt% peptides of more than 700 molecular weight and less tan 20wt% free aminoacids ant eha peptide composition is used as a nutrition supplement that causes increase in body weight and lowers serum cholesterol. Dipeptides are low in absorption antagonism between aminoacids and high in solubility, thus being high in the total nitrogen absorption rate and good in nitrogen balance. Therefore, the nutrition supplement is different from proteins and aminoacids in absorption behaviors and suitable for helping physically weak or lowered people, children and infants.
