Abstract
PURPOSE: To efficiently remove arsenic from a waste copper electrolytic soln. by electrolyzing the soln. in electrolytic cells arranged in a row after adjusting the copper concn. to a prescribed value or below when copper and arsenic in the soln. are removed.
CONSTITUTION: By cooling a waste copper electrolytic soln. to ≤10°C, copper sulfate is precipitated and separated to adjust the copper concn. to ≤10g/l. This soln. having such a reduced copper concn. is electrolyzed in a plurality of electrolytic cells arranged in a row. Thus, arsenic is removed at a constant rate independently of the amount of the fed soln., and the arsenic removing efficiency is increased.
