Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable simplification of the construction of a soot blower and reduction in its manufacturing cost by structuring a mechanism whereby one set of unidirectional clutches designed to move the lance pipe axially is incorporated in a gearing mechanism contained in a single gear box. CONSTITUTION:The unidirectional clutches 45 and 51 are provided on the same axis to be accommodated in the gear box C. With the driving source 31 being turned in the normal direction, the lance pipe 40 is moved to its thrusting side. With this, the unidirectional clutch 45 engages with the shaft 52 to turn, via the gears 43 and 44, the shaft 54 in the direction as designated. At the same time, the lance pipe 40, via the gears 46 and 47, is turned in the X direction as indicated by an arrow, with the nozzle 40a at the end sending out injecting material to enable cleaning of a heat exchanger, for example. With the driving source 31 being turned in the reverse direction, on the other hand, the lance pipe 40 is moved to its pulling side. With this, the unidirectional clutch 51 engages with the shaft 52 to become activated, and the lance pipe 40 is turned in the X direction as indicated by an arrow.
