Abstract
PURPOSE:To contrive to improve the anti-fading characteristics of the brake by a method wherein the drum brake is cooled utilizing the exhaust of a brake chamber. CONSTITUTION:The pressurized air in an air tank 9 is flowed through a brake valve 10 via a quick release valve 4 into the brake chambers 5 to actuate brakes by operating a brake pedal 8. When the pedal 8 is set free, the pressurized air from the air tank 9 is interrupted by the valve 10 and the pressurized air trapped between the valve 10 and the quick release valve 4 is discharged from the valve 10. The pressurized air in the brake chamber 5 is discharged through the quick release valve 4 into the inside of a brake drum 1 from an exhaust nozzle 6 fixed to a back plate 11. An ejector 7 sucks the outside air in the inside of the drum 1, resulting in cooling the inside of the drum 1.
