Abstract
PURPOSE:To economize the volume of water spraying and to prevent the danger during operation by changing the volume of water spraying and liquid drop diameters in accordance with the descending of the level of charging materials and controlling gaseous temp. surely. CONSTITUTION:The charging of raw materials into a blast furnace is stopped under sustained blasting through tuyeres and the melts are discharged from the inside of the furnace, whereby the level of the charging materials are lowered gradually until the furnace is emptied. In such emptying and blowing out operation, solenoid valves 3 for controlling flow rate are opened and water is sprayed through the water spray nozzles 5, 5', 5'' of water spray pipings 4, whereby the high gaseous temp. is reduced. At this time, water is discharged through nozzles 5 for small drops in the beginning, and through nozzles 5' for middle drops on progression of the reduction of the stock level, and further through nozzles 5' for large drops on progression of the reduction of the stock level. The water is first sprayed in the form of small drops then in larger drops so as to reach remotely; in addition, the volume of water spraying is changed to prevent the rise in the furnace top temp. In this way, the volume of water spraying is economized, and the danger during operation is prevented.
