Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve igniting performance of a gas turbine, by providing passages communicating a fuel nozzle and an ignition plug to each other, delivering cooling air into the body of the ignition plug through these passages, and thereby preventing occurrence of electric short-circuiting and detrioration of electric insulation, and producing stable spark. CONSTITUTION:An ignition plug 9 of this invention is composed of a fuel nozzle 8, a shell 10 supported by a swelled tip 13 formed with an air outlet port 14 and a fuel outlet port 15, and an ignition plug rod 11 formed at the central part of said shell 10. Further, an insulating member 12 is interposed between these members 11, 10, 8. With such an arrangement, compressed cooling air 29 is introduced into the shell 10 via a pipe 24 and ejected into the inner space of a combustor linear 6 from the top of the ignition plug 9, thus cooling the shell 10 and ignition rod 11. Here, supply of the above cooling air 29 is started when pressure of the cooling air has reached a predetermined level along with increase in the speed of a gas turbine after ignition.
