Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the manufacturing cost of an ink jet head and to impart a corrosion resistance to the head by employing polyester elastomer for the parts contacted with ink of a pressure chamber, an ink discharge passage and an ink supply passage made of a vibration plate and a base plate. CONSTITUTION:A vibration plate 1 and a base plate 2 are laminated and bonded, thereby forming a pressure chamber 4, an injection passage 5 and an ink supply passage 6. Polyester elastomer is used for the materials of the plates 1, 2. Since this material is thermoplastic organic synthetic material, it can be molded such as an injecion molding, thereby adapting for a mass production as compared with metal, ceramic and largely reducing the cost of components. The materials exhibits strong corrosion resistance against agents such as acids, alkalis, organic solvents and the like, and cannot be corroded with acidc or alkaline aqueous soluble ink, or oily ink containing organic solvent.
