Abstract

PURPOSE:To regulate the leading end edge of an original in such a way as to intersect the same orthogonally in the feed direction of a feed belt by providing a gate provied with a stopper piece and a pressing piece at the inlet of the feed belt. CONSTITUTION:A feed belt 2 is provided along the top surface of platen glass 1, and an original let-in path 10 is provided at the inlet thereof. A feed roller 5 is provided between these to feed an original A diagonally. A gate 7 provided in the inlet part of the belt 2 is provided with a stopper piece 8 on which the leading end edge A'' of the original abuts and a pressing piece 9 which presses the leading end edge A' of the original to the belt 2. The gate 7 oscillates to the position where the piece 8 projects upward and to the position where the piece 9 is in press contact with the belt 2. Accordingly, it is possible to regulate the leading end edge of the original in such a way as to intersect the same orthogonally with the feed direction of the feed belt.
