Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a toner superior in offset resistance, by adding a mixture of a polymer having no carboxyl group and a decomposable metallic compound to a polymer having carboxyl groups, an reacting them in presence of necessary toner components. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. polymer having no carboxyl group is mixed with 1-50pts.wt. decomposable metallic compound, such as iron acetylacetonate and this mixture is added to 100pts.wt. polymer having carboxyl groups in an amount of 0.01-20pts.wt. metallic compound. Then, the polymer having carboxyl groups is reacted with the decomposable metallic compound in presence of dye, pigment, and the like necessary toner components to cross-link the polymer with the metallic ions. A desired toner is obtained by uniformly dispersing the toner components into the polymer, and pulverizing them finely.
