Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the need of adjusting a reference voltage circuit, by a method wherein an electric potential, being generated at a time when an input power source voltage is brought to a normal condition, is stored in a capacitor, and the electric potential is compared with an input power source voltage via a transistor. CONSTITUTION:If a power source is turned ON, a transistor (Tr)Q1 is brought to On, and charge is stored in a capacitor C3 to increase a voltage. If charge is sufficiently stored in the capacitor C3 in due course, an electric potential at point (a) becomes high, a Tr Q3 turns ON, and a Tr Q4 turns OFF to release a reset signal. During said period, a current flows to also the base of the Tr Q1 to charge a capacitor C2, and the base electric potential of the Tr Q1 goes to a specified electric potential which is lower than a power source voltage by a specified voltage. Then, if the power source voltage drops, the Tr Q1 turns OFF, and thereby, the electric potential at the point (a) falls, the Tr Q3 turns OFF, and the Tr Q4 turns ON to output a reset signal from an output terminal 3. This eliminates the need for a special reference voltage circuit and also eliminates the need to regulate an element for reference voltage.
