Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a baked surface having a solid feeling and a firm adhesion to a metal, by kneading a low-melting frit with a high-melting skeletonic agent and an adhesive mass, and using the resultant kneaded material as a coating agent in baking a metallic film.
CONSTITUTION: A coating agent obtained by kneading about 80wt% low-melting glass frit melting at about 530°C or above with 20wt% glass frit having a melting point ≥about 600°C as a skeletonic agent and an adequate amount of an adhesive mass as a squeegee oil is printed and applied to the surface of a hard glass product 2 having a softening point ≥about 600°C as a pattern, e.g. a letter, by using a silk screen 3, and then baked at about 590°C to form a rough granulated surface 4. A coating film of a gold paste 6 is formed on the whole top surface of the product 2 through a silk screen (the figure is omitted), baked at about 580°C and then allowed to cool. Thus, a baked product (A) having a solid pattern, e.g. the letter, on the surface of the product 2 and the whole surface covered with a golden film (6a).
