Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate the discharge of slime fallen off in the cooling system of an ozonizer by inclining the main body of the ozonizer thereby eliminating the horizontal part in the cooling system, and attaching the cooling water inlet to the lowest position.
CONSTITUTION: The ozonizer 1 contains a pair of electrode 2, 3 placed oppositely interposing a discharge space and dielectric material therebetween. Ozone is generated from the oxygen in the gas passing through the discharge space by silent discharge, and the generated heat of discharge is removed with cooling water. The cooling water inlet 11 is attached to the ozonizer at the bottom near the end plate, and the main body of the ozonizer 1 is inclined by at least 2W5° relative to the floor. The cooling water inlet 11 is at the lowest position. In case of the maintenance and inspection of the ozonizer 1, the supply of cooling water is stopped, and the water in the cooling system of the ozonizer 1 is discharged through the cooling water inlet 11. The sand and slime in the cooling system can be discharged together with the cooling water.
