Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the failure of the coating film of the layer below BN of specific thickness by coating said BN on the outermost layer of a superhard alloy tool coated with specific compds. CONSTITUTION:One or >=2 kinds of carbide, nitride, oxide, boride of Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, W or their compds. as well as 1 or >=2 kinds selected from Al2O3, ZrO2, AlN are coated in one or >=2 layers on a superhard alloy. BN is coated at 1-20mu on the outermost layer thereof. The BN is the soft one of hexagonal type or amorphous one and is coated by CVD or the like. In the case of a coated superhard alloy tool having >=1 layer of Al2O3, the effect is particularly high.
