Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance an uniformly dispersing quality of mixed fluid of air and washing water, by providing small holes to a strainer of an upward flow filter.
CONSTITUTION: An air and liquid mixing header 5 having an air path 2 at its top, a water path at its bottom and a mixing path 4 communicating with paths 2 and 3 respectively by means of slots and holes at its intermediate position, and innumerable branch pipes 6 respectively communicating with the path 4 of the header 5 at their one ends, are both installed horizontally on the bottom 1' of a filtering tank 1; strainers 7 are attached upwards to the branch pipes 6 respectively so as to protrude only thermselves from the upper surface of a grouted layer 1", and a supporting bed is provided onto the layer 1" and further a filtering layer is provided onto the bed. Small holes 24 are provided to the branch pipe of the strainer at the under half part 7' projected from above and above the opening of the bottom.
