Abstract

PURPOSE: To dehydrate sludge with superior dehydration efficiency without requiring rollers of different sizes by providing braking devices to rollers suspending filter cloth in a apparatus of dehydrating water contents in sludge by means of two sheets of filter cloths.
CONSTITUTION: An upper filter cloth 3 is suspended between the 1st driven pulley 1 and a driving pulley 2, and a lower filter cloth 7 is suspended between the 2nd driven pulley 5 and a driving pulley 6. Hydrous sludge 12 is supplied between both filter cloths 3 and 7, and is passed through the plural roller groups constituted of upper rollers 20AW20E and lower rollers 21AW21C, whereby the water contents in the sludge 12 are pressed and filtered out. The sludge is taken out as dehydrated cake 15. At this time, braking devices 22A, 22B, 22C are provided respectively to the upper rollers 20B, 20C, 20D so that tension is generated between the upper roller 20B and the pulley 2, 6 and between the upper roller 20C and the pulley 2, 6, and the braking devices are given braking forces stronger in the directions of 22A→22C, whereby dehydration pressure is increased without exchanging the upper, and lower rollers and the dehydration effect is improved.
