Abstract

PURPOSE:To ease coating conditions by sputtering, by forming a film consisting of a magnetic material of Co with addition of Si or Ge in such a manner as to obtain an axis of easy magnetization vertical to the film surface. CONSTITUTION:Co containing Si or Ge is made the target, while a polyimide film coated with permalloy is used for a substrate. The film coating is performed by flowing Ar gas after exhaust to attain sputtering. The obtained coated film has an axis of easy magnetization vertical to the coating surface. As a target, the material wherein one or more elements selected from a group consisting of Ru, Re and Os being added to Co may be employed.
