Abstract
PURPOSE:To indicate the residual capacity of a battery without passing current through the battery by making the terminal voltage of the battery follow the element voltage of a voltage memory element and displaying the element battery as a residual capacity. CONSTITUTION:A battery 11 is discharged through a load 3 by means of a switch 12. The voltage between the terminals R-W of a voltage memory element 15 is amplified by an amplifier 16 and added to the input to a comparator 14. In the comparator 14 the battery voltage and the amplified voltage are compared and an element 15 is charged or discharged through a switch. Accordingly the element voltage of the voltage memory element follows the terminal voltage of the battery 11 with a proportional constant. Because an amplifier 18 is constituted, so that its output becomes zero at the voltage of the voltage memory element when, for example, the battery 11 reaches the voltage at which discharge stops, the drop in voltage at the time of battery discharge can be displayed in almost linear relationship as decrease in residual capacity by providing graduation of 0-100% on an indicator 19.
