Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce manufacturing cost of metallic mold, by depositing a hard metal which has a higher melting point than that of molten metal on the inner surface of cross gate and cavity, in a die casting metallic mold made of steel material. CONSTITUTION:A product molding cavity 5 is formed with the fix side liner 3 of a fixed mold 1 and the movable side liner 4 of a movable mold 2. Moreover, a cross gate 7 connected to the cavity 5 is formed by fitting a spool bush 6 to the fixed mold 1 side. The fix side liner 3, movable side liner 4, and spool bush 6 are formed by using a hot worked tool steel. Moreover, on the surface which consists each cavity 5 and cross gate 7, a hard metal, such as molybdenum alloy, tungsten alloy, etc., which has a higher melting point than that of a molten metal, is deposited by the laser beam, and thus a heat resisting layer 9 is formed on the inner surface of cavity 5 and cross gate 7.
