PURPOSE:To provide a metallic mold for casting of high temp. molten metal which reduces deformation by the heat of the metal mold bodies and liners and has a longer life by providing slit grooves in at least one of the metallic mold bodies and liners and absorbing thermal strain. CONSTITUTION:In a metallic mold for casting which handles high temp. molten metal, plural pieces of slit grooves 5, 6 for absorption of thermal strain are provided on the respective outside surfaces of a movable metallic mold body 2 and a stationary metallic mold body 3. Otherwise, slit grooves 16, 17 for absorption of thermal strain are provided on the respective outside surfaces of the top part liner 10 and bottom part liner 11 mounted to the body 12 and th body 13. The thermal deformation of the bodies 2, 3, 12, 13 and the liners 10, 11 is prevented and the dimensional defects of products, the production of burrs, the leakage of material, etc. are prevented.
