Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of thickness deviation of a material to be rolled by measuring the roll rolling load of the final two rolling roll stands and controlling roll gaps based on the results of these measurements in a continuous type elongator in which rolling roll stands are disposed in tandem. CONSTITUTION:The detection data such as displacement detectors 5a, 5b, etc. installed in the roll housing 3 of the final two rolling roll stands contributing substantially to screw down are taken into a control device 7, by which the roll gap G7 between caliber rolls 11, 12 is measured. The detection data of load detectors 6a, 6b, etc. taken into the device 7, by which actual rolling load P7 is obtained. Displacement detectors and load detectors are provided to the 6th stands S6 as well like with the 7th stands S7, and their detection values are inputted to the device 7 so that a roll gap G6 and actual rolling load P6 are measured. The above- mentioned measured values are collected with respect to various rolling conditions, and from these data, the data to which the conditions correspond are selected, whereby the roll screw down position is controlled.
