Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain much roll crown with a simple mechanism by disposing work rolls spacially from the axial lines of backup rolls, and allowing pivot rolls to contact with the work rolls on the outlet side of a rolling mill. CONSTITUTION:Upper, lower work rolls 1, 2 are supported by leaving a distance Y in the flow direction X of a rolling material S from the respective axial center line L of upper, lower backup rolls 3, 4. Pivot rolls 7, 8 having convex crown type cylindrical parts are disposed on the outlet side of the rolling mill, and are pivotally fitted to a housing 9 in the state that they contact with the central parts of the rolls 1, 2. The respective journal boxes 5, 6 of the work rolls 1, 2 are displaced in the flow direction X of the rolling material by using pressing device thereby applying horizontal bending force FH. Also, the boxes 5, 6 are displaced in mutually alienating directions by using cylinder devices, thereby applying vertical bending force FV. By this mechanism, good shape correction is applied to the rolling material.
