Abstract

PURPOSE:To change the tension distribution of blank and roll a broad width plate material under high draft with good shape by providing the touch rolls which press the work rolls on the entrance side and exit side of the apparatus and letting these touch rolls make bending. CONSTITUTION:Touch rollers 6, 7 which make contact with the work rolls 1, 2 on the entrance side and exit side of the rolling apparatus and the respectively independent split type backup rolls 8, 9, 10, 11 are contacted to the outer side of the touch rollers 6, 7. When the work rolls 1, 2 revolve at different peripheral speeds, the split type backup rolls 8-11 press the touch rollers 6, 7 locally, causing the touch rollers 6, 7 to deflect forcefully to an arbitrary shape. As a result, the tension distributions of the blank 3 change and the shape correction of the material is thus accomplished. This mechanism improves the productivity of the thin plate rolling.
