Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the titled heat exchanger form frosting by a method wherein water vapors in air passing through the low temperature side heat exchanger are charged to the same potential as that of the heat exchanger. CONSTITUTION:A negative voltage is impressed upon charging electrodes 12 and a positive voltage is impressed upon charging electrodes 12 matching the former electrodes 12 so that the water vapors in the sucked air negatively charged by corona discharges generated around the electrodes 12. At the same time, when the low temperature side heat exchanger 11 is made to have a negative potential and the above mentioned charged air 14 is passed through the heat exchanger 11, the temperature of the air falls and waterdrops are produced by making the water vapors as nuclei. As such water drops are negatively charged, they are subjected to a repulsive force from the surface of the heat exchanger 11 of the same potential and pass through the heat exchanger without freezing on the surface of the heat exchanger.
