Abstract

PURPOSE: To effectively prevent the wetting and staining of discharge electrode insulators etc. by heating the hot wind to be flowed in the discharge electrode insulator housing casing provided to an electrostatic precipitator by the heat of a gas.
CONSTITUTION: Primary heating hot wind 12 passed an air heater 11 passes through a hot wind reheating pipe 14, and a hot wind reheating jacket 15, and is reheated by receiving the heat of the dust-laden gas. Thence, it passes through a secondary heating hot wind route 12' and a tertiary heating hot wind route 12" and enters an insulator 1. At this time, the pipe 14 is in proximity to a dust collecting chamber 7 and is therefore maintained at a sufficiently high temp., so that no dewing occurs on the surface of the pipe 14 and there is no fear for corrosion. Since the member sandwiched at the intermediate of the jacket heating part 15 contains less steam of the hot wind, no dewing occurs thereon. Further, the outer member of the jacket heating part 15 is higher in temp. than the reheating pipe, so there is no fear for corrosion. Hence, the bottom plate and peripheral part of the insulator housing casing 8 rise to a sufficiently high temp., whereby dewing and corrosion are prevented.
