Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate the generation of a hot spot part of molds and to prevent generation of defects such as shrinkage cavities in castings by reducing the thickness of the part of the molds for casting near the hot spot part, and providing an air cooling pipe in proximity thereto. CONSTITUTION:In the stage of casting molten metal into the cavity 5 for casting of molds 1 consisting of a top part 2, a side part 4 and a bottom part 4 from an arrow direction, the wall thickness of the mold in the area of the hot spot part 6 against which the molten metal dashes and where the temp. rises locally is reduced.
