Abstract

PURPOSE:To properly process a highly viscous specimen automatically beforehand by a method wherein, after a specimen for analysis and the like are placed in a container supported by eleastic material and oscillated smoothly, the predetermined amount of supernatant fluid is collected through a hexagonal cock and an excessive portion is simultaneously discarded. CONSTITUTION:A container 6 supported by a turn table 1 through an elastic member 3 for containing a specimen is oscillated without particular trouble by a motor 14 and the like after a reagent is injected through a divider at the position 7 where a reagent for pre-processing is added. In so doing, a milky, suspensoid or pasty specimen which is highly viscous in the container 6 is mixed with the reagent and stirred. Subsequently, after the container 6 is kept at a standstill for the specified length of time at the prescribed position, the container is moved to the position 49 where the specimen is divided and then supernatant fluid in the container 6 is obtained from syringe 23 via a six-way cock 21 through a quantitative loop 24. Then the excessive portion containing the highly viscous specimen is put into a liquid waste container 26, so that a dividing mechanism 20, a suction mechanism 29, a filter 30 and the like are not affected by the highly viscous speimen.
