Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the damping force of a hydraulic buffer continuously variable, by providing the working oil passage of a piston with a damping plate valve, the opening pressure for which can continuously be increased or decreased depening on the attractive force of a solenoid. CONSTITUTION:A piston 2 is provided with an internal cylindrical opening as a valve casing. A solenoid 17 wound around a bobbin 16 is provided in the internal opening. An electromagnetic solenoid unit 18 is thus constructed. An expanding-side damping valve 20, which is made of a hollow disc of magnetic substance, is mounted on the end of the solenoid unit 18 by tightening a piston nut 15 on the central parts of the valve and the solenoid unit, so that the valve closes a hole 21 which can connect an upper and a lower oil chambers C1, C2 to each other through the piston 2. A seat 22 is provided on the flange 16A of the bobbin 16 made of magnetic substance and is located at the port of the hole 21. When the solenoid unit 18 is excited, the expanding-side damping valve 20 is pulled on an attracting part 24 so that the force which pushes the valve on the seat 22 increases.
