Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the noise and improve the durability of the engine by a structure wherein the piston type valve mechanism is employed as the suction and exhaust valve mechanism of the engine. CONSTITUTION:Piston 1 acting as a suction valve and as an exhaust valve are arranged invertedly above a power take off piston 9. Cylinders for suction and exhaust 6, within which said pistons 1 slide, are arranged around said piston 1. In addition,a suction port (or an exhaust port) 8, which serves as a passage for suction gas (or exhaust gas), is provided at a part of the said wall of the cylinder 6. Owing to the structure as described above, only when the lower end of the piston 1 acting as the suction valve (or the exhaust valve) clears the suction port (or the exhaust port) 8 provided at the cylinder 6, the influx of the suction gas from outside (or the efflux of the exhaust gas to outside) is possible.
