Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain inexpensively a new stable liquid fuel having high combustion effect without using an emulsifying agent and without causing environmental pollution such as atmospheric pollution, etc., by comprising three components of coal or vulcanic ash trass, petroleum, and water.
CONSTITUTION: (A) Coal (e.g., peat, lignite, brown coal, bituminous coal) is reacted with (B) an aqueous solution of caustic potash or potassium carbonate at 50W150°C at ≤5 atm. for 1W3hr, to give a colloidal solution of potassium humate, to which petroleum (e.g., gasoline, light oil, kerosene, heavy oil) is added, the blend is emulsified by ultrosonic wave or by an emulsifier, to give the desired liquid fuel.
