Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide the titled emusifier not separating water and a fuel over a long period and combusting a fuel for an internal combustion engine with good heat efficiency, comprising a carboxylic acid type surface active agent, a solvent, a pH adjusting agent and an aqueous alkali hydroxide solution.
CONSTITUTION: An emulsifier consisting of 4.0W6.0pts.vol. carboxylic acid type surface active agent (e.g.; oleic acid or linoleic acid), 1.0W6.0pts.vol. solvent (e.g.; ethylene glycol monobutyl ether), about 0.09pts.vol. protective colloid (e.g.; CMC), 0.1W3pts.vol, aqueous combustion promoter solution (e.g.; H2O2 or a chloric acid compound) 0.1W1.0pts.vol. pH adjusting agent (e.g.; monoethanolamine) and an aqueous alkali hydroxide solution (e.g.; NaOH or Na2CO3) is added to a mixture of water and a fuel for the internal combustion engine to form a fuel emulsion.
