Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled composition that contains dimethyltin oxide as the major component for forming a coating, thus making it possible to coat on a base such as glass or ceramic base plate and form a coating of low resistivity and high strength easily, further being inexpensive and high in chemical resistance.
CONSTITUTION: (A) Dimethyltin oxide is uniformly dissolved in (B) nitric acid and diluted with (C) an organic solvent, preferably boiling at 35W250°C. Then, (D) a carboxylic acid such as propionic acid is added at a molar ratio of 0.1W 3.0 to component A. Further, when necessary, (E) an antimony compound such as triphenylantimony is added as an auxiliary agent for film forming to give the objective composition. The resultant composition is coated on a base plate and calcined, e.g. at a temperature over 350°C, to form a coating.
