CONSTITUTION:In a block (a), a block of a magnetic material such as Ba ferrite is processed for comb-shaped grooves. The width of the teeth and grooves of the comb shape are formed that they are sequently decreased from a recording medium entrance side 2 to an exit side 3. Nonmagnetic substance blocks 14 and 15 are bonded to the grooves of the comb with an adhesive and combined. Thus, a permanent magnet erasing head of gradually decreasing magnetic field type without variance of the magnetic flux density distribution can be obtained. Further, a metallic material such as brass, a glass member or a high polymer material can be used as the nonmagentic substance.
